Remember to Write

I really enjoy making cards for specific occassions, but it's also nice to just make a batch of generic cards to have on hand. I find that when I do that, I am much more likely to mail a card to my sister in Miami, to my best friends in Virginia and Florida, or even to my exchange friends in Europe. Receiving mail can brighten my day, and for that reason I enjoy being on the sending end to do that for someone else.
Mom's birthday card this year, which we gave her when we hosted her birthday dinner again. Becoming an annual tradition.

Baby Boy Christening
Our neighbor is moving and has given us some of what she is not taking with her, including a lawn mower. So we got her a small going away/good luck/thank you gift.

Both sets of our parents have September/October birthdays! Here's the last parental birthday card of 2012.

Rendezvous in Late Summer

We hosted some of Ryan's coworkers for an end-of-summer gathering. By now, everybody knows that we love sunflowers and earth tones, and just like on many other occasions, the decorations and dishes were so inspired.

We wanted to incorporate fresh food from our own garden in the food and drink menu. One way we did this was by cutting cucumber curls and freezing them with a little water to use as ice cubes in Ginger Cucumber Fizzes (mix details here).
The drink station (not fully set up, but what I got on camera before guests started arriving)

I'm going to miss summer!
