When I found out I wasn't going to be working summer school this year, I was bummed. Now, over a week into summer break, I feel very blessed to have this extended time off to relax.
We kicked off summer right by berry picking the first day I was off! I didn't take my camera into the patch, but we stocked up on yummy strawberries, which only lasted a couple of days :)
The second weekend of summer was spent celebrating my brother's wedding. My sister came in from out of town and stayed the entire weekend at my house. It was SUCH a fun time with family, the weather turned out perfect, and my brother and his new bride were so sweet.
This has been my week so far. Yesterday the rain fell and fell, so I justified reading this book through to the end (I know- I'm just starting the series, but better late than never!).
Today I was more productive: laundry, grocery shopping and trying out these gluten-free cookies.
We are SO lucky to have our sister- and brother-in-law who give us fresh honey from their bees! Besides tasty, isn't that gorgeous?
One of my most favorite parts about summer is walking. We live in such a great neighborhood with tree-lined streets and sidewalks. I try to get out every day that I can.
