There's a nature center about 3 miles from our house. Each year, they have a maple syrup open house when people can come out and learn about how they tap their trees and make maple syrup. Ryan and I were the only adults there without kids! Haha! Oh well... it was pretty cool seeing it and I love the fact that the syrup comes from our own town!
They said it takes 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of maple syrup. That explains why it's so pricey. We got to sample both the freshly tapped sap and then the finished product. Mmm so sweet!
