Vivian's first birthday party was a huge success- so much fun! With over 100 guests, we had no choice but to host her party in a lodge. With my mom and mother-in-law handling the bulk of the food, I got to focus on the fun stuff: decorating: We had SO much help pulling this off and are beyond grateful for that, and for everyone who came, and for the generosity of all the gifts! Viv's had a lot of fun today with her new things!
Fabric for table runners.
... and a matching bib. Gotta be prepared for the smash cake.
Her outfit! The dress was a $4 garage sale find by my sister-in-law! And my sister had the perfect matching dress for me to borrow :)
For about $10 (the cost of two cans of spray paint), we made this "one" sign out of cardboard.
To display the monthly pictures I had taken of her throughout the past year, I wrapped tulle around a cardboard wreath base, then spray painted and glued on 12 clothespins in a clock formation. I used numbers 1-12 pink cut-outs to match the number month of the picture and hot-glued them onto the pins. I then chose six different sheets of rosy-hued paper (each sheet made two backgrounds) and cut backgrounds out for each picture.
I set up an area for people to write Vivian a note for her birthday to put in her photo album. They could write it on a notecard, or on the chalkboard to photograph and send me the picture to print for her album.
Here are some more pictures from her party:
My aunt and cousin made the beautifully decorated cupcakes and cookies!
She was so delicate with the smash cake!
Centerpieces were hydrangeas from our yard in mason jars, plus a gold balloon tied around the rim.
