Not only was this my birthday week, but I also had my first shower on Sunday! My coworkers from the school where I started my teaching career (and just left in March) threw me such a sweet shower! I loved spending time with them again, and was overwhelmed by their generosity.
I love this woman! She started out as my cooperating teacher for student teaching and became my "school mom." She was the hostess that day :) Even two of my former students came! It was an unforgettable day.
Then, on Wednesday, my new coworkers offered to treat me to a birthday lunch. They have been so sweet and welcoming. I walked in to what I thought was our lunch, and found a surprise shower! I was SHOCKED! I did not expect it at all (hence the look on my face!)
One of my coworkers made me this awesome diaper cake and the cupcakes! They're so thoughtful!
I could not have asked for a better week. I feel so spoiled and so grateful! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can't say it enough. I am still on a high from how caring people are.
On a side note, there's not a day that goes by now that someone doesn't comment on how I'm "popping" or to ask me when I'm due and if I know what we're having. Generally, people are sweet about it, but becoming a public spectacle takes getting used to. It's also getting harder and harder to find work-appropriate clothing. I am so looking forward to summertime and being able to relax at home and kick this nesting thing into full gear!
